My Lord,
With reference to Mr. Amery's despatch
No.421 of 31st December, 1928, on the subject of the
Standard Stock of the Public Works Department, I have
the honour to request that, in view of the fall in the
value of the Hong Kong dollar, the sum of $550,000 may
be adopted for the year 1930 as representing six months'
supply of stores other than tho se for particular works.
It is further requested that this figure be sanctioned
for 1931 and for the future until further notice.
